Castro Valley’s Little Theatre in the Park
Audition Dates: Wednesday, June 12th, and Friday, June 14th at 7:00 pm. Callbacks, if necessary, on Saturday June 15th, 7:00pm to 10:00pm.
Synopsis: Written by one of Hollywood's top comedy screenwriters, this hilarious comedy revolves around David and Barbara Kahn a married couple who are art dealers. Their domestic tranquility is shattered upon the arrival of Barbara's goody goody nerd of a sister, and her uptight CPA husband the Heymans. Barbara and David’s lives are further turned on their head by Barbara’s archetypal Jewish Mother, Sophie Greengrass. The Heyman’s are there to try to save their college student daughter from the horrors of living only for sex. The comic sparks really begin to fly when the mother hits it off with the elderly minimalist artist who is the art dealer's best client!
Requirements: Good sense of humor a must. Please prepare a comedic monologue and/or good joke for audition, appointments not necessary. Roles: 2M (30s-50s); 2F (30s-50s); 1 F (60s+); 1 M (70+).
Rehearsals: Begin Wednesday June 19th. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Fridays and some Saturdays, 7:00pm - 9:30 pm, at theatre. Not all cast members are needed every rehearsal. Tech Saturday, July 20th.
Performances: July 26th through August 18th Friday and Saturdays at 8:00 pm; matinees (except on opening weekend) at 6:00 pm
